Brassards

Over the years we keep in study many brassards, pieces of cloth worn on the shoulders to display a specific insignia. The largest user is the cadet force. Arm shields are perfect for their purpose. Cadets are required to display their unit affiliation, rank and awards, but they are still growing and are periodically reissued with larger uniforms. Instead of having to sew a badge onto a uniform and then remove it and resew it on a larger size, they can replace the brassard in seconds. These  brassards are often overlooked by collectors because they are of cadet rather than regular military origin, but they are colorful, interesting, and available in a variety of shapes, all based on green cotton brass.
