“He said it’s really cool, when you see some of the women dancing, and they have long skirts, and they’re spinning,” she says. “You get a giddy feeling when you’re moving. You hear the musicians, and they’re doing great, and you want to move your body.

Eric O’Neill: [00:30:48] Exactly. Someone to leave behind to what he called his "friends" in Russia, you know, to continue his good work and maybe he thought – and I was playing the game too. I would say things like, you know, the FBI doesn’t pay us anything.

DTG uses halftones as well, but these digital machines can print up to 1,200 dots per inch (DPI), and use diffusion dither. To get extra technical, this is a frequency-modulated halftone instead of an amplitude-modulated halftone. It can sometimes result in a grainy look, but a much better reproduction of small details.

It took us a couple of months, we made countless test batches. And the protocol when you’re tasting Malort, you do a shot. So you can imagine how many shots we did around here in testing the recipe. It was a true labor of love.

Balanced Growth that Respects Our Neighborhoods “Even if you live in a big city, everybody lives in a small town. We identify ourselves by our neighborhoods.” – Karin Slaughter

The professional rower then spoke to Martina Ballerio, manager of the 3D printing unit at Elmec Informatica, which led the custom design of a new seat for Bertolasi. The seat was 3D printed using HP’s Multi Jet Fusion 3D printer, with HP 3D High Reusability PA 12 thermoplastic.

It’s not that [GreatScott!] isn’t aware that 3D-printed motors are a thing; after all, the video below mentions the giant Halbach array motor we featured some time ago. But part of advancing the state of the art is to replicate someone else’s results, so that’s essentially what [Scott!] attempted to do here. It also builds on his recent experiments with rewinding commercial BLDCs to turn them into generators. His first step is to recreate the stator of his motor as a printable part. It’s easy enough to recreate the stator’s shape, and even to print it using Proto-pasta iron-infused PLA filament. But that doesn’t come close to replicating the magnetic properties of a proper stator laminated from stamped iron pieces. Motors using the printed stators worked, but they were very low torque, refusing to turn with even minimal loading. There were thermal issues, too, which might have been mitigated by a fan.

"We are thrilled to welcome José to the helm of Storefront, the very institution where he began his curatorial career over a decade ago," Renfro said.

It’s kinda like a litmus test for being a Chicagoan, because it does prepare you for the sweet and the bitter and all that.
